Purpose of study:
This research study is designed to see if the combination of two approved treatments, compared to each of the treatments alone as an addition to standard treatment is effective in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus and whether it causes any side effects.
Who can participate?
In this study we are looking for men and women, age 18 and above, who have type 2 diabetes mellitus. Study participants must have BMI ≤ 45.0 kg/m2.
Participants must be taking metformin (a stable dose of at least 1500 mg for at least 8 weeks).
Participants cannot be pregnant, breast feeding or planning to become pregnant during the duration of the study and must not be involved in any other clinical study.
At the first clinic visit the personnel will select the participants with T2DM with inadequate glycaemic control (HbA1c ≥7.5% to ≤10.0%) for inclusion in the study.
